During my internship at Penguin Random House, I was tasked with creating a series of comps for a cover for Daisy Jones & The Six without using any existing promotional imagery or type. Over a period of two months, I conducted research on the world created in this novel. Through investigating styles familiar to the era that the book is set in, I developed a visual language that ended up being used across a number of my iterations. Some of the covers include custom lettering that reflects an Art Deco style, remeniscent of 60’s and 70’s album covers designs. The three final comps embrace bold color palettes and a focus on type.
