Through more detailed explorations of type design processes, I have found that developing forms from simple shapes almost always allows for solid results. Dusk is a display typeface that I developed with classic old western fonts in mind. To give it a more contemporary feel, I gave it a lower contrast and more beveled corners. Most of the characters, with a couple of exceptions, are mono-spaced and mono-width, meaning that most typographic layouts using Dusk will be evenly spaced.
