Taking hints from a type concept that I developed in 2021, I decided to create a 26-character unicase typeface. The original concept was inspired by Herbert Bayer’s Universal typeface in the ways in which it used modular elements to create visual consistency rather than focusing on optical adjustments for technical perfection. Infinity strives to produce a similar end goal, but also puts a heavy emphasis on the potential for creating patterns in various typographic situations. This is assisted by that fact that it is monospace and monowidth. The variable weight element also allows for a wider spectrum of customization for users.
